Very Easy V-Stitch Scarf Pattern

This project is worked back-and-forth in rows. The optional fringe is added after you complete the scarf and after you sew in any yarn ends.

Ch 17

R1: 2 dc in the 5th ch from the hook (the sk 4 ch count as 1 dc), sk 1 ch. *2 dc in the next ch, sk 1 ch**. Rep from * to ** across to the last ch. 1 dc in the last ch. Turn. [14 dc]

R2-98: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc). Sk 1 dc.*2 dc in the sp bef the next dc, sk 2 dc**. Rep from * to ** across to the last 2 dc. 2 dc in the sp bef the next dc, sk 1 dc, 1 dc in the last dc. Turn. [14 dc]

Finish off and weave in ends.

Optional Fringe

Cut 78 strands of yarn 7″ in length and hook them into a fringe in the last row and first row of the scarf. Be sure to work the same way on each side so they have a similar appearance when you are done. I placed 3 strands in each dc stitch across the edge, except the second last dc on each edge. For additional assistance please see this photo tutorial. It shows you how to hook the fringe through the stitch/space – for our current V-Stitch Scarf I used 3 strands for each fringe (rather than 4 like in the tutorial).

Fringe tutorial is at the end of this post : Sinfully Simple Unisex Winter Scarf Pattern
